Below are some key statistics for the Government Licensing Service as of Feb 2012. Please note that the numbers provided are approximate. Licence volume

The GLS is used to manage approximately 6m Licences*, representing more than 120 licence types. These are held in more than 1,700 classes (sub-types) across business, occupational, recreational and community licences. 

Monthly Transaction Volume

Every month, the GLS processes more than 60,000 new licence applications, 90,000 renewals and 21,000 amendments. Over and above this, 14,000 other transactions such as compliance, assessments, case management etc. are also conducted. A quarter of these transactions are conducted through our online channel.

The service also issues about 200,000 certificates, cards and notices every month, and the GLS Public register receives about 125,000 online inquiries.

Usage

Currently GLS supports more than 30,000 registered online users and 3,300 internal agency users. Eight out of nine Principal departments in NSW use GLS to conduct business, at over 150 Government service locations in NSW
